Its Stradivarius
He played a Violoncelle of Stradivarius going back to 1711, named in his honor Duport , property of Mstislav Rostropovitch until his death which has occurred in April 2007.
In 1812 with Paris, it had one amusing meets with Napoleon, which insisted to hold the instrument of Stradivarius between its boots with spurs, shouting, " how devil hold this thing, Mr Duport? ". Duport was afraid so much that Napoleon damaged it, and beseeched it of a so anxious Lord , that Napoleon returned to him. In fact, one tells that the Emperor is responsible for the still visible tear on the " Duport" today.
