Jean-Pierre Azéma

Jean-Pierre Azéma , born in 1937, is a historian French, and the son of the poet Réunion be born Jean-Henri Azéma. Specialist in the Second world war, and more particularly in the history of Vichy and the Resistance, Jean-Pierre Azéma was professor of the universities and teaching with the history with the Institut of political studies of Paris.
Biography
In 1972, at the request of the Éditions of the Threshold Jean-Pierre Azéma makes team with Michel Winock to read again, before publication, France of Vichy of the historian states-unien Robert Paxton. It is his/her mother, Claude Bertrand, which had translated the work into French.In 1997, it was one of the historians quoted by the civil parts with the lawsuit of Maurice Papon (with Marc-Olivier Baruch, Robert O. Paxton and Philippe Burrin).
He was also member of the scientific advice of the Institut François Mitterrand.
Political commitment
Jean-Pierre Azéma asserts left French. In 2007, it signed the “call of the intellectuals” inviting to vote for Ségolène Royal.
