Jean-Pierre Andrevon

Jean-Pierre Andrevon (born with Bourgoin-Jallieu the September 19th 1937) is a writer of Science-fiction French committed.

Biographical elements

After a childhood in the countryside marked by the war and the occupation, it carries out secondary studies fallen through with the Champollion college with Grenoble. He works then with the Ponts and Chaussées from 16 to 20 years.

Having been able to put side, it enters to the Decorative Arts of Grenoble in 1957. He teaches one year the drawing with the Champollion college, then it is the military service in Algérie, until in 1963.

Of return in France, he teaches again until in 1969 then becomes full-time writer. From the exit of Décos Arts, and parallel to teaching, Andrevon continues and develops many activities: journalist, painting, song writer and performer, scenario writer…

But it is naturally the writing which mobilizes the essence of its creative efforts. After publications in various fanzines, its first professional news is published in the magazine Fiction in May 1968.

Reference mark in its literary activity

In 1969, it publishes its first novel, the man-machine ones against Gandahar (adapted 20 years later to the screen by Rene Laloux under the title Gandahar ).

In 1982, it receives the price of the science fiction for youth, with the fairy and the geometrician .

In 1983, a book of gold joining together its best texts is carried out by Patrice Duvic.

In 1983, it publishes the work of the Pipe cleaner inside the hen house , famous being its best novel, adapted for television in 1994.

In 1990, it receives the Grand Prix of the French science fiction for Sukran .

Consequently, Andrevon publishes each year on average three or four works (Romance, collections of news, joint work), at the beginning primarily at Denoël and with the black Fleuve where it began by signing pseudonym Alphonse Brutsche ), then in very many other editors (I have Lu, the Book of Pocket, Flammarion, Magnard, Nathan, Canaille, Baleine, etc).

From now on, it less often publishes, and moved away from the SF to the profit of the thriller and the literature for youth. He also wrote an autobiography in 1993 pennies the title “I remember Grenoble”.

Moreover, the cinema is interested again in its novels, for another cartoon film, this time according to the fairy and the geometrician , like for a version cinema of the work of the pipe cleaner .

Other activities

Its activity in the press continues and culminates in the Années 1970: articles and drawings in Charlie Hebdo, Monthly Charlie, Non-violent Combat, critical data bases and cinema (Circus, To follow the fantastic Screen).

It takes part especially in the Fiction review (until its last number in 1989) and as of its first number in the Open Mouth, re-examined French devoted to militant ecology.

In second half of the Years 1980, it takes part in the creation of two collections of science fiction, as deputy manager with the Discovery, reader and illustrator with the editions of the Dawn.

Between 1983 and 1989, Andrevon takes part in the direction and the activities of the Literary Center of Creation of Grenoble, publisher associative, where it publishes new, poems, posters, postcards.

It continues today its activities in painting and the drawing. It carried out two pictorial services besides: the realization of a mural, " the wall of the galaxies" , at the House besides, international museum of the science fiction in 1990, and a personal exposure to the town hall of Grenoble in 1993.
