Jean-Pierre Amat
Jean-Pierre Amat is a gunner with the Carabine French, born the June 13rd 1962 with Chambéry. It began the sporting Tir in 1976 at the 14 years age and started to attend the international launching pads as of beginning of the year 80.
It stopped its international career in 2002 following the championships of the world, after a career long and equipped with an impressive prize list: Olympic champion, world champion and three times champion of Europe (without counting the many international medals and multiple championships of France), Jean-Pierre Amat gained all that was possible in the shooting with the rifle, and remains a character emblematic of the Shooting to the French rifle.
He is today the trainer of the team of France of Biathlon in section shooting. He is currently president of the Savoyard Olympic Tir. This club, gathering practitioners chambériens of sporting shooting (rifle, gun and crossbow), was founded in 1992. It uses two installations on Chambéry, one in the buildings of the Forum in Chambéry-The-High, the other with the shooting range of Charmettes.
Divorced, he is father of three children.
