Jean-Philippe Stassen is a Belgian author of Cartoon.
Biography
Jean-Philippe Stassen was born on March 14th 1966 with Liege.
Collaborating initially with Denis Lapière which signs the scenarios of its first albums: the Bahamas , Bullwhite , the bar of the old French (Alph' Art very favorite with Angouleme),
he becomes a complete author starting from Louis the Portuguese and Therese , followed in 2000 by Déogratias (Prix Rene Goscinny of the best scenario and Prix France Info), having for framework the Rwanda before and right after the genocide of 1994, and, in his wake, the Children , in 2004.
Son editor (Dupuis) presented it not only like “a teller of stories, but also a rapporteur of the Histoire, that which one does not choose but who asserts oneself by his dramas”.
Some chronicles on the area of the Big lakes, which he knows well and reports far from any Manicheism and of very stereotyped, are appeared in 2002 in a collection titrated Pawa, Chroniques of the Mounts of the Moon (ED. Delcourt).
