Jean-Paul Kurtz

In 1994, it is the 12 long years result of work: the Dictionnaire of Civil engineering arrives on the rays of the bookstores specialized with its: 12000 definitions and: 1200 dessins.
This work will become a true bible for all the mobility of the Civil engineering of the French-speaking countries. At the time of universalization, it is necessary that of New York for Paris, Singapore to Brussels etc all the actors who work with the works of art use the same definitions. For that, it is necessary that this work either translated into English. In 1997, he contacts a large American editor who is not other than Kluwer Academic Publisher which will amalgamate with Springer . The director of edition of this large company is filled with enthusiasm by the projet.
After 7 years of work the dictionary is published in English. The originality of the publication in English language lies in the fact that all was carried out via Internet. It was the first time that a work of such a width was born without physical, telephone contact between an editor and his author.
