Jean-Paul Fitoussi

Jean-Paul Fitoussi is a economist French of Tunisian origin. His/her mother was Polish, and her Tunisian father. He is Professor of the Universities to the Institut of political studies of Paris since 1982 and chair French Observatoire of the economic conjunctures (OFCE) since 1989. He is member of the scientific advice of the Institut François Mitterrand.

He works on the theories of the Inflation, of the Chômage, the opened economies, and on the role of the macroeconomic policies. He is critical budgetary and monetary rigidity, with the reason which it would have a negative effect on the growth and the Emploi. Its recent work concerns the relationship between the democracy and economic development.

He is also president of the scientific advice of the IEP of Paris since 1997 and member of the economic Council of analysis near the Prime Minister.
