Jean-Paul Daoust
Jean-Paul Daoust (Valleyfield, the January 30th 1946) is a Poète and Essayiste Quebec ois.
Prolific author, Jean-Paul Daoust published about thirty collections of poetry and two novels since 1976. He collaborated in many reviews of poetry and directed itself the review Estuaire of 1993 to 2003. Chronicler of poetry for TV-Quebec then Radio-Canada until 2002, he is member of the Union of the écrivaines and the Québécois writers.
Dandy twilight , with the writing readily French baroque and vibrating mixing and English, its work in turn raw and oneiric is articulated around the Mélancolie, of the Modernité and the male Homosexualité.
Two major poems mark out its long career. In 1990, he is prize winner of the Literary prize of the General governor of Canada for blue ashes , intimate work which treats with force, and not without acuity, of sexual abuses made on an young child. America, poem in cinemascope , published in 1999, represents the slope plus protestor and engaged of the work of the poet.
