Jean-Paul Chanois

Jean-Paul Chanois , born Jean-Paul Dreyfus , is a Cinéaste and man of Théâtre French born the October 25th 1909 with Paris and dead the July 8th 1985 with Chamonix.

It is also known for its political commitment within the French Communist party, its Syndicalisme in the medium of cinema and its activities in the Résistance under the German Occupation.

Biography

With the Cinema, Jean-Paul Chanois is initially recognized for his talent of Scénariste ( the Hand of the devil ) but it was also a notable Réalisateur Années 1950.

Resisting, Communist, and of Jewish origin, it however worked for the Continental-Films, production company of French films directed by the Germans under the Occupation.

He was named Chevalier of Arts and Lettres in 1978 and was promoted Commandeur of Arts and Lettres in 1984. He also received the Médaille Beaumarchais in 1984.
