Jean-Michel Leniaud

Jean-Michel Leniaud is an academic and historian of French art, born August 18th 1951 with Toulon.

Career

Jean-Michel Leniaud made studies with the National school of the charters which it leaves Archiviste paleographer in 1976 thanks to a thesis entitled Recherches on Jean-Baptiste Lassus (1807-1857), archeologist and architect .

He becomes then arts doctor d' État in right and doctor.

Jean-Michel Leniaud is inspector of the historic buildings of 1977 with 1990. It is successively preserving regional historic buildings for the area the Rhone-Alps (1979-1983), head of the division of the general affairs and the protection of the historic buildings (1983-1986) then head of the division of the movable inheritance (1986-1990) to the ministry for the Culture.

It is devoted entirely to research since 1990, year when it is named director of study to the practical École of the high studies. He also teaches the history of the contemporary art to the National school of the charters like part-time lecturer (1991 - 1996) then as professor (since 1996); and with the School of Louvre since 2000.

Its research relates primarily to architecture of, on the artistic institutions and the religious history in connection with arts. It also carries out a reflection on the concept of inheritance in our company.
