Jean-Michel Cadiot
Jean-Michel Cadiot (Paris, December 23rd 1952) is a Journaliste and writer French.
Formation
Holder of a license of Eastern languages (Chinese), it followed in parallel a course of economic scenes, it launches out in journalism, as of the years 1970.
Biography
With the beginning of the year 1970, Mr. Cadiot starts as journalist with Christian Témoignage. Very early, values of secularity, oecumenical dialog and exchanges multi-cultural make of him a journalist atypical, at the same time catholic and resolutely open on the other religions, traditions, and cultures. He takes part in actions of elimination of illiteracy foreign workers in Seine-Saint-Denis and in the Val-d'Oise within various associations.
Old to defer war and set on international questions, those brought to accomplish many stays abroad, that it is with The Middle East, in the United States, in Cuba, or even in China, etc… It has in particular directed the offices of Teheran and Bucharest for AFP, and worked a long time in Iraq. It develops throughout its career an acute conscience of the whole of the geopolitical problems of this world which led it to write a book on the danger of surarmement in Iraq, and this since 1989.
Trade unionist, his vision and his values could indicate an approach of social questions turned " towards the gauche". Nevertheless, the failure of the policies Socialists of the " Mitterrand" years; , during which developed important inequalities, enabled him to preserve a critical vision and without concession of the " gauche" , and in particular of the current PS. He worked then in particular as parliamentary correspondent; he is always today journalist with the AFP.
Recently, it is invested in policy while trying to revive the torch of the current of the democratic movements of Christian inspiration, which with the manner of the radicals are at the center of the political chessboard. The Democratic Movement initiated by Francois Bayrou forms the movement nearest to this tradition, which goes back to the MRP (popular Republican movement), of which his/her grandfather, Francisque Gay, for which it writes a work unanimously recognized, was one of the founders and leaders. Quite naturally, it engages at the side of Mr. Bayrou to support it in her political combat.
In spring 2007, he is the candidate invested by the Democratic UDF-Movement (UDF-Modem) with the legislative election, and in particular vis-a-vis Dominique Strauss-Kahn in the eighth district of the Val-d'Oise (Arnouville-lès-Gonesse, Bonneuil-in-France, Garges-lès-Gonesse, Sarcelles (North-eastern Canton), Villiers-the-Beautiful) where cohabit of important communities. In 2001 and 2002, the former minister PS had been put there in ballotage by Sophie Jacquest, who presented herself under the same UDF label and had obtained a score of 45% with the second turn.
On December 9th and 16th 2007, an partial legislative election is envisaged in this same district and Jean-Michel CADIOT is presented again, always under the Democratic label UDF-Movement in order to replace Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigner, following his nomination with the head of the IMF.
Another affiliation
He is general secretary of the Cercle of the Furrow, association intended to promote the values of the democracy, social Europe and the international solidarity in the republican and innovative spirit of the Furrow of Marc Sangnier.
