Jean-Marie Muller (water skiing)

Jean-Marie Muller is a nautical skier of the Fifties, born on July 3rd, 1940 in Yssingeaux (Haute-Loire).

Career (1955-1963)

Jean-Marie Muller, wire of Jean Muller, world champion of water skiing, was born and grew in an environment one cannot more favourable with the water skiing. It is thus almost logically that it will become, after several years of drive, world champion of figures in 1961 with Long Beach (the United States). He was also champion of Europe in the various disciplines of the water skiing, of 1955, year when he integrated the Team of France, at 1961.

Its prize list is eloquent: Jean-Marie Muller was 28 times Champion of France, 10 Champion times of Europe, 4 times Vice-Champion of the World, and once World champion.

Jean-Marie Muller currently saw in region of Lion and practical still regularly the water skiing.

Linked activities with the water skiing

But in addition to her activities as an athlete, Jean-Marie Muller especially contributed to the development of the water skiing, in particular while taking part with her father in the organization of the World cup of water skiing in Vichy in 1963. It was very then largely invested in the development of the water skiing in France and in the world, organizing inter alia tests of the world cup in Tahiti in 1971 and Bordeaux in 1980.

He was Membre of the Office then President of the French federation of Water skiing in 1976, held various active stations within the International Toilets Ski Federation, but was also General secretary of the Technical Committee of the World Union of Water skiing (Group 2), and founded and chaired the League Center-South-Is of Water skiing.

Lastly, it wrote or took part in the drafting of many books of initiation and improvement on the water skiing.

In recognition of its implication in the development of this sport, it was introduced at the International Toilets Ski Hall Federation off Famed in 2001, that is to say ten years after his father, becoming with them two the first couple father/wire to be appeared in it.

Others

Jean-Marie Muller is in addition Doctor of Sciences, and was Professor-Engineer at the National institute of Sciences Applied (INSA) of Lyon.

In 2005, Jean-Marie Muller, is condemned by the court of Cusset (To combine), at one year of prison firm to have diverted 23.000 euros of the cases of the league of water skiing of Auvergne, like with the payment of 30.000 euros damages to the league of Auvergne and more symbolically of one euro to the French federation of Water skiing. Jean-Marie Muller made call of this judgment.
