Jean-Marie Louvel is a French politician. Born in Ferté- Macé (Flowering ash) on July 1st 1900, it is deceased in Caen (Calvados), the June 13rd 1970.

Biography

It followed the courses of the Polytechnic school (Promotion X1920N) and of Supélec (University of electricity). He is appointed MRP Calvados with the Two constituent National Assemblies then appointed until 1958. He is Minister of Industry under IVe République between 1950 and 1954. Favorable to liberalism, he manages to reconcile the desires of employers with the requirements of the Plan in a phase of great economic expansion.

He is elected with the Sénat in 1959, assembled in which he sits until his death. He is also member of the Senate of the Community.

After having been mayor of the Vésinet (then Seine-et-Oise, today Yvelines) of 1945 to 1953. he was mayor of Caen of 1959 with his death and general adviser of the Calvados.
