Jean-Marie Londeix

Jean-Marie Londeix , born with Libourne (the Gironde) on September 20th 1932 is a Saxophoniste French.

Biography

Raise Marcel Mule and of Jean Rivier, he was professor of Saxophone to the Academy of Dijon during eighteen years, then with the Conservatoire of Bordeaux. Guest regularly in American universities and various countries where it is made the defender of its instrument in the traditional repertory.

It founded a Quatuor of saxophones named the Whole of French saxophones with Roland Audefroy, Guy Lacour and Jacques Melzer, then the Whole of Saxophones of Bordeaux, made of twelve saxophones.

He wrote three works on the repertory of the saxophone, but also a method in 5 volumes, studies, parts didactic and many transcriptions. He solicited many type-setters of which he created works. Inter alia the Sonata of Edison Denisov. It did not have of cease to make evolve/move the repertory of the saxophone, working with in particular Christian Lauba or François Pink with the development of a specific idiomatic repertory. It is particularly interested in the musical possibilities opened by the development of the novel methods.
