Jean-Marie Girault

Jean-Marie Girault (born the February 9th 1926 with Pont-l'Ev4eque cheese) is a politician French.

Jean-Marie Girault was member of the emergency Teams of the French Croix-Rouge at the time of the Débarquement of June 1944. It was lawyer at the Court of Appeal of Caen of 1947 to 1998.

Of 1970 with 2001, he is mayor of Caen. In 1971 it is elected independent senator republican Calvados, is re-elected in 1980 and 1989 and is beaten in 1998. It sat at the commission of the constitutional laws, the legislation, the vote for all, the payment and general administration.

As mayor, it modernizes Caen, through the Tramway, the electrification of the Paris-Caen line, and development of the Caen-Ouistreham port.
