Jean-Marc Lalanne

Jean-Marc Lalanne (born in 1967 with Orthez) is a film critic and writer French.

After studies of literature and cinema it becomes critical with the Cahiers of the cinema in the middle of the Nineties.

It will direct thereafter the Culture pages of the magazine max and will work as critic with the newspaper Libération .

He will be then editor association of the Cahiers of the cinema of 2001 with the re-entry 2003 and one of principal the one period old craftsmen of the history of the review marked by a marked interest of the drafting for the new images (clips, publicity, plays-vidéos, TV-reality…). During its drafting as a chief, the review will give its first number devoted to the cinema of Hollywood since nearly one decade.

With its departure of the Books of the cinema , it joined the cultural weekly magazine Inrockuptibles , also as editor association. It since then occupies this function while directing the cinema pages of the magazine.

He is joint author of a work on Wong Kar-Wai (Co-signed with Ackbar Abbas and David Martinez with the Editions Say See) and of two monographs of scenario writers Co-signed with the critic Philippe Azoury: modern Fantomas style (Editions of the Center Pompidou, 2002) and Cocteau and the cinema: Disorder (Editions of the Books of the cinema/Editions of the Center Pompidou, 2003) - this last work accepted the price Philippe-Arnaud of the hands of the actress Amira Casar.

In collaboration with the critic, poet and scenario writer French Stephan Bouquet, it currently prepares (for the Editions of the Books of the cinema) the first French-speaking work devoted to the work of the scenario writer Gus Van Sant, of which it is one of the specialists.
