Jean-Marc Cochereau

Jean-Marc Cochereau is a Leader French. Graduate of the Conservatory higher national of music of Paris, it directed many symphony orchestras of great fame, carried out recordings for the French Radiodiffusion, directed regional orchestras as well as lyric productions to France and in Canada. He invests himself today fully in the formation of the orchestras of young people.

Biography

Jean-Marc Cochereau is the son of the organist Pierre Cochereau, he studies the music (the piano) as of the 5 years age, and enters to the higher national Academy of music of Paris, where he obtains a price of harmony and the first price of direction of orchestra unanimously.

Within the framework of the Festival of sacred music of Nice, in which he collaborated six years, he obtains in 1976 the Grand Prix of the disc for his recording of Jeanne d' Arc with roughing-hew Arthur Honegger, which is besides the first stereo recording of this work.

He collaborates then regularly with the Italian SPOKE, and again produced there Jeanne d' Arc with roughing-hew , like the Childhood of Christ and the Te Deum of Hector Berlioz and the Gloria of Francis Poulenc

With the Opera of the Rhine, he works with beginning of the year 80 with a representation of Carmen of Bizet and a production televises FRA Diavolo of Auber.

Invited by the Philharmonic orchestra of Los Angeles, it takes part in 1984 in the inaugural concert of the large organ of the Crystal Cathedral.

In 1987, he becomes musical director of the Symphony orchestra of Orleans, and is still currently.

In parallel, he is successively director of the academies of Saint-Raphaël, Valence, Orleans and Tours (since 2001). He specializes in the formation of the orchestras of young people, and directed with Erik Krüger and the musical Theater of Touraine, the regional Orchestra of the Young people of the Center which produced several operas of which Pelléas and Mélisande of Debussy and Faust of Gounod.
