Jean-Marc Barr born the September 27th 1960 with Bitburg (Germany) is an actor and Franco-American realizer.

His/her father is an American soldier member of the US Air Force and his/her mother is French. In 1980, Jean-Marc Barr leaves the United States for France and studies philosophy with the Sorbonne, then will study the theater in London. In 1986, from return in France, it begins in small roles with the theater, on television and with the cinema. But it is revealed in the film Great Blue , of Luc Besson, then it marks a turning in its career at the time of the meeting with Lars von Trier.
