Jean-Louis Lemoyne , born with Paris in 1665 and died in this same city in 1755 is a French sculptor.

Biography

Jean-Louis Lemoyne was the pupil of Antoine Coysevox.

On order of Louis XIV, Lemoyne took part in the whole beginning of the 18th century with the realization of the decoration stuccoed and carved royal vault of the castle of Versailles. It carried out at the same time, in 1707, two statues of holy Simon and holy Thaddée for the balustrade this same building.
