Jean-Louis Lagourgue is currently the Maire of Sainte-Marie, the president of the Association of the mayors of the department of the Meeting and a member of the General advice of the Meeting.

He in addition was the president of the Inter-commune Communauté of the North of the Meeting until end June 2006.
