Jean-Louis Heudier

, born the 3 July 1944, is a Astronome with the Observatoire of the Riviera.

From 1974 to 1989, it directed the Télescope of Schmidt of CERGA to the plate of Calern, the largest camera of Europe. Since 2006, it directs Observatorium, pole of diffusion of scientific culture established with the Observatoire of Nice. As a professional astronomer, it chaired, of 1979 to 1982 and 1988 to 1991, the " work group; Photographie" International Astronomical Union.

is vice-president of the group Cannes Riviera of the aeronautical Association and astronautics of France (AAAF).

Popularizer

Like good number of scientific colleagues, such Hubert Reeves, included/understood very quickly the interest of to popularize astronomical science . It devotes to it nearly a third of its time.

In addition to pronouncing many conference-animations both in France and abroad, it created:

  • in 1986, the Association PARSEC, with for objective popularizing the fields of astronomy and astronautics, but also of other sides of science practiced in the department of the Maritime Alps such as physics, geology, archeology, ecology, chemistry, mathematics, paleontology etc

  • in 1987, ASTRORAMA of the Trinity, in the battery of Feuillerins, close to the fort of Revère, on the Large Cornice, between Nice and Turbie. It is a place open to all the public ones allowing, from its position and its easy access since the capital azuréenne, of the observations of good quality, thanks to powerful tools placed at the disposal of the visitors.
  • in 1993, with Guy Lebègue, person in charge of the Communication of Division Satellites of aerospatiale in Cannes, (now Thalès Alenia Space) the Classes Azure Astro-Space, stays of discovered science and its activities on the Riviera.
  • in 1997, the Route Cassini, tourist tool for scientific popularization allowing all the public ones to visit France and Italy on the traces of the five generations of Cassini through the concerns of the astronomers and the Geographer S of XVIIe, XVIIIe and XIXe centuries.

It chaired the charged commission to work out the policy of decentralization of the Cité of sciences and industry.

It takes part in many radio programs and of television: Eureka, Dust of Stars, the Boulevard of Strange, Tempo besides, Time X, the star Blue-Azure, With the Continuation of Stars, Right of reply, the Future of the Future, Our Universe, Science Cartoon, That Looks at You, Astrorama, the Chronicle of Stars, the Festival with the Moon, the Walk of the Century, the star Bleu Azure, etc
