Jean-Louis Cottigny
Jean-Louis Cottigny was born the September 12th 1950 with Hesdin. He is a French politician member of the Socialist party, present at his national council since 1990. He was national secretary with the companies. Workman, then regional assistant (1970-1989). Former president of the court of arbitration of the court of Arras
He is autodidact.
He was to advise with the secretariat of state to the housing, charged with the surfaces of reception for the travelling entertainers, of 2001 with 2002.
A time with the Left Socialist (1999-2000), he is member of the national majority of the PS.
Political mandates
- Federal secretary of the PS of the Pas-de-Calais, in charge of the companies 1974 - 1990. National secretary of the PS, in charge of the companies (1990 - 1997.
- 1989 : mayor of Beaurains, close to Arras, function which it gave up in June 2004.
- General adviser of the Pas-de-Calais 1992
- 1997: it becomes European Député following the resignation of Bernard Kouchner.
- 1999 : it is not represented with the European Parliament.
- 2002 : substitute for the deputy of North Jean-Pierre Defontaine.
- June 13rd 2004: find its seat of European Député.
