Jean-Lesage is a electoral Circonscription provincial of the Quebec located in the town of Quebec. The electoral Population (18 years and more) of the district was of: 48319 voters at the time of the general poll of 2007, for a total population of 60.587 citizens. She bears the name of old the Prime Minister for Quebec Jean Lesage.

The district of Jean-Lesage is represented by the deputy Jean-François Gosselin of the democratic Action of Quebec since the March 26th 2007.

History

Into 1861, the electoral district of the town of Quebec, which sent three deputies to the Parliament of the Province of Canada, was divided into three districts: Quebec-center, Quebec-West and Quebec-Are. The latter existed until in 1966, when it took the name of Limoilou, of the name of the district which composed the essence of its territory. Limoilou was in its famous turn Jean-Lesage before the elections of 2003, and acquired at the same time part of the territory of the district close to Montmorency. The voters of the district of Jean-Lesage could go to the ballot boxes and elect their first deputy the April 14th 2003.
