Jean-Joseph Expilly
Jean-Joseph Expilly (born the December 17th 1719 with Saint-Remy cheese, Rhone delta - 1793, in Italy), French historian.
He was successively embassy secretary of the king of Sicily, inspector and general listener of évêché of Corsica Sagona in , canon of Tarascon. He traversed part of the Europe by collecting invaluable observations on the countries which he visited, and left of the works which are still estimated at the 19th century (according to the dictionary Bouillet) for the exactitude of the details on the climate, manners, the population and the political reports/ratios of the various regions:
