Jean-Henri Hemsch

Jean-Henri Hemsch (born in 1700 close to Cologne, died in 1769 in Paris) was one of most famous the Parisian factors of Clavecin S of its time. It was of German origin.

From its true name Johann Heinrich Hemsch , it came to settle in France in 1728, and worked in the workshop of the factor Antoine Vater, him also German emigrant.

He worked then for his own account, in partnership with his younger brother Guillaume (Wilhelm) and became the one of most famous factors and Parisian experts. There remains today five instruments with two keyboards of its production.
