Jean-Guillaume Bruguiere
Naturalist and traveller, Jean-Guillaume Bruguiere (1750 Montpellier - October 1798 Ancône) began studies of Médecin E before turning to the natural science.

It took part in the first voyage of Kerguelen-Trémarec (forwarding '' Fortune '' and '' Coccidiosis '') towards the the Antarctic in 1773. it will bring back from there interesting observations whose publication was discrete.
Of return to Montpellier, he studied the Mollusque S testacés (i.e molluscs protected by a shell) and wrote the first volume of the natural history of the Ver S for the methodical Encyclopedia, stopping with the letter " C" !
In 1790, it accompanies the Entomologiste Guillaume-Antoine Olivier (1756-1814) in a voyage in Perse, but its health does not enable him to continue.
In 1792, in spite of its weak health condition, he visits the Greek archipelago and the the Middle East, always with Guillaume-Antoine Olivier. He dies at the time of the return voyage.
He described various tax in his book Encyclopedic and Methodical Tableau with the three Reigns with Nature: towards, various shells, molluscs and polyps) which is appeared in three volumes in 1827, a long time after its death.
He also wrote Natural history of the Worms. Vol. 1 (1792) but it has to stop with the letter " C". Christian Hee Hwass continued his work and wrote the majority of them.

Plant éponyme
Its name was given to one plants: Bruguiera (a plant of the family of the Rhizophoraceae). Rhizophoraceae) has been named by Lamarck in his honor. -->
