Jean-Gilles of Coëtlosquet

Jean-Gilles of Coëtlosquet (born the September 15th 1700 with Saint-Pol.-of-Leon - died the March 21st 1784 with Paris) was a French man of the church, bishop of Limoges and tutor of the children of Louis XV.

He is chancellor of Bourges, bishop of Limoges of 1739 with 1758, tutor of the duke of Burgundy, died at the nine years age, then of Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X. He is elected member of the French Academy in 1761.

Jean-Gilles of Coëtlosquet did not leave any work and few memories, if it is not of a modest man and sincerely piles, which gave its Tonsure to Marmontel.
