Jean-François Jenny-Clark
Jean-François " J.F." Jenny-Clark (born the July 12th 1944 with Toulouse, dead the October 5th 1998 with Paris) was a double bass player of Jazz.
Jenny-Clark was one of the most important double bass players of jazz in Europe. With the beater Aldo Romano he played in the quintet of Don Cherry in 1965, with Keith Jarrett (about 1970) and in the group Jasper van 'T Hof Pork Pie (with Charlie Mariano) (about 1975).
Jenny-Clark was member of the unit Alive Musique of Diego Masson which interpreted contemporary compositions of John Cage, Luciano Berio, Mauricio Kagel, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Boulez or Vinko Globokar.
From 1984 to 1987 Jenny-Clark directed l'" together of jazz franco-allemand" with Albert Mangelsdorff. From 1985 Jenny-Clark mainly played in trio with the German pianist Joachim Kühn and the Swiss beater Daniel Humair.
Jenny-Clark also played with Karl Berger, Joe Henderson, Gato Barbieri, Chet Baker, Michel Portal, Stan Getz, Helen Merrill, Michel Petrucciani and Martial Solal.
Died of lung cancer at 54 years, Jenny-Clark recorded one album under her name (" Unison “, 1987).
