Jean-François Dalmas de Lapérouse

Jean-François Dalmas de Lapérouse , French historian, born the July 5th 1903 with Belfort, deceased the January 26th 1982 with Paris.

Historian of its family, it devoted his life to the glory of his great-great-uncle Lapérouse, it endeavoured to collect all the memories, documents, portraits, engravings… concerning this sailor.

At the time of died of his older brother, Henri (former naval officer) in 1958, his nephew, Betrand Dalmas of Bessière Count de Lapérouse, became chief of the name and weapons of the family.

He was the agent of the family archives representing several meter-cubic titles, acts, contracts, wills and documents of any nature, of which about fifty letters of Lapérouse addressed to his/her sister Martianne de Galaup, marries of Sieur Dalmas of Bessière (To advise in Présidial and Sénéchal of Rouergue) apparently diverted by certain family members without the agreement of the household head.
