Jean-François Boisard

Jean-François Boisard , born with Caen in 1762 and died in 1821 is a fabulist and painter French.

Nephew of the fabulist Jean-Jacques Boisard, Jean-François Boisard had initially dedicated himself to painting but, not obtaining no success there, gave up it for poetry where it was not happier.

After having emigrated at the beginning of the Revolution, it returned to France during 1793, was condemned to died and escaped the guillotine only by miracle. Carrying out a life always wandering and unhappy, often separated from its wife whom he cherished and relieving her misfortune only by means of the helps which he received from some guards.
