Jean-Edmond Briaune

Jean-Edmond Briaune (1798 - 1885) is a Agronome and economist French. He is regarded as one of the most fertile representatives of the thought agrarian French.

  • Wire of magistrate born on February 21st, 1798 with Chateauroux (Indre), it makes lawyer studies, then becomes in 1833 the first professor of rural economy of the school of agriculture of Oil cake.   • Marginalized by the provincial insulation of its author, his work is remained largely ignored but nevertheless inspired Joseph Schumpeter and Ernest Labrousse. Recently redécouverte, it is the subject of a major revaluation in the history of the economic thinking.
