Jean-Claude Simon
Jean-Claude Simon is one of the pioneers of the telecommunication by optical amplifiers . He was born with Dalat, Vietnam, in 1948. After its doctorate of 3rd cycle in 1975 at the university of Orsay it obtained a doctorate of State in 1983 at the university of Nice. It integrated the Hundred, Research center of the postal and telecommunications authorities of Lannion (today France Telecom Hundred) in 1972. Since 1973 Jean-Claude Simon works on the Amplificateur S Optique S. Actuellement it is Professor at the university of Rennes, director of FOTON, department of research in optics and optoelectronics for Telecom, affiliated with CNRS. J. - C.Simon is author or joint author of approximately 135 articles and communications and 10 patents. It took part in the European SPIRIT, research programs RACE, and ACTS.
