Jean-Claude Mallet
Jean-Claude Mallet , born the March 25th 1955, is a French senior official.
Resulting from the one of the founders families of the Protestant large bank Neuflize-Schlumberger-Mallet, Jean-Claude Mallet integrates the National school of administration after the National university. It leaves there to the Council of State on June 1st 1985 like listener 2nd class. It is promoted listener of 1st class on February 1st 1986, Maître of the requests on June 1st 1988, and to advise State the 2000.
Former member of the cabinet of Pierre Joxe, then Minister for defense (PS), then directing of the strategic businesses of the ministry for defense (1992 - 1998), Jean-Claude Mallet is General secretary of national defense (SGDN) of 1998 with 2004.
For this reason, Mr. Mallet is regarded as one of the experts who contributed to the development of the new doctrines of the Head of the State as regards Nuclear deterrence.
In the capacity as general secretary of national defense, he was member of the Domestic security counsel, of which the general secretary is Philippe Massoni, old Prefect of police of Paris and operations manager near the President of the Republic Jacques Chirac.
In 2004, Mr. Mallet reinstates the Council of State. It is in parallel named chairman of the board of the National university by decree of February 27th 2006.
Mallet commission
August 23rd, 2007, Mr. Mallet was charged by the president with the Republic with chairing the commission which will be charged to write a new White paper on defense and the national security. He must be used as a basis for next the laws of military programming. He will fall under a 15 years prospect, while having vocation to be re-examined and updated regularly. The commission is made up of 12 senior officials, four members of Parliament and 19 personalities qualified, of which Jean-Martin Folz.
