Jean-Claude Carpentier
Jean-Claude Carpentier is a Belgian politician , born the January 20th 1942 with Hyon and dead the September 18th 2006 with Mons. Member of the Socialist party, it was to advise communal, president of C.P.A.S., alderman and burgomaster making function of Mons, like to advise provincial Hainaut.
Originating in Hyon, it begins its career like apprentice in a garage of Mons. It takes down then a diploma in mechanics and electricity. It creates in 1960 Alliance Hyonnaise Cyclist.
From 1979, it works in the cabinets of many socialist ministers (Bernard Anselme, Guy Mathot, Philippe Busquin, Robert Urbain, Charles Picqué, Laurette Onkelinx, Magda De Galan and Willy Taminiaux) where it tries to advance the files of hospital infrastructures of the Mons area.
Jean-Claude Carpentier becomes adviser with the C.P.A.S. of Mons of 1976 to 1985 before becoming about it the president of 1985 to 1995. In 1997, it enters to the College échevinal of Mons: alderman of the Budget, Finances and the Land Control of 1997 to 2001, alderman of Housing, the Mobility and the Land Control of 2001 to 2005. The October 5th 2005, Elio Di Rupo, become minister-president of the Walloon region, appoints it burgomaster making function of the Town of Mons. A title which it will keep until its death on September 18th, 2006.
A new wing of the hospital Ambroise Paré, of which he was the vice-president, will bear his name.
