Jean-Christophe Yoccoz

Jean-Christophe Yoccoz is a Mathématicien French born the May 29th 1957 and former student of National university. It is in particular known for its work in dynamic systems; it received the Médaille Fields in 1994 with the congress of Zurich.

Life

It was raises in preparatory class with the Louis-the-Large Lycée with Paris; then was received first at the entry of the National university of Ulm in 1975 at 18 years. It was received first ex-aequo with Aggregation of Mathematics in 1977. It supported its thesis in 1985 under the direction of Michael Hermann.

He was elected member of the Academy of Science the October 24th 1994 in the mathematical section. He is also member of the Brazilian Academy of Science.

He is currently professor with the Collège de France and professor with the Université Paris XI (team Topologie and Dynamique ).
