Jean-Baptiste of the Break-in
Jean-Baptiste of the Break-in is a French sailor born in 1646 with Bayonne and died in 1714.
It was characterized early by its intrepidity, was named in 1691 governor of Saint-Domingue, became chief of squadron and general lieutenant of the naval armies. Being put at the head of the Flibustier S of Santo Domingo, it did much evil to the English, and beat the admiral John Benbow close to Holy-Marthe in 1701.
Named Chief of squadron in 1703, then general lieutenant of the naval armies, it ordered in 1714 the fleet which invests Barcelona.
