She is noticed by Napoleon 1st at the time of her passage to Mount-of-Marsan in 1808; where it is lodged with the private mansion of Papin. Between this beautiful and gracious blonde with the blue eyes and the Emperor will be born a idylle which will be concretized at the imperial court, but which will rather quickly be broken by the jealousy of the empress. This one would however have recognized that Napoleon would have really loved only three women: itself Joséphine, Marie Walewska, and Mrs. Duchâtel born Papin. According to G. Huts, " in the intimacy of the Emperor, there were two women: Mrs. Walewska and Mrs. Duchâtel, for whom the history has all indulgences. They do not appear of to have been indignes."
- In 1784 is born Dominique Joseph, who will become General Trésorier of the Invalides, General adviser of the Moors and mayor of Benquet, where he will die in 1841.
Jean Baptiste Papin receives in 1808 the title of count de Saint-Christau.
He dies in his castle of Benquet in 1809. With its death, the merits of the count had to be considered to be rather exceptional so that its body receives the supreme honor to be buried among the great men of France, with the the Pantheon of Paris.
