Jean-Baptiste Ollitrault de Keryvallan , born with Quintin the April 13rd 1862, deceased with Rome the February 25th 1929. Abbot of Citeaux, third General Abbot of the Order cistercian of the strict observance (Trappists).

Orphan of father at the 5 years age, it was raised by his grandfather with the manor of Lanégoff with Quillio (Coast-with Armor), in the middle of four religious aunts Ursulines and of an old uncle pontifical zouave. He entered to the small seminar of Plouguernével then to the great seminar of Saint-Brieuc, held then by the Maristes, from where he passed to the noviciate of these monks established in England. In 1885, it left the noviciate of the Marists for that of Trappistes to the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Melleray in the diocese of Nantes. Admitted in 1890 with the solemn profession, it had been ordered priest two years earlier. He became in 1901 superior of a monastery founded in England with Wood-Barton. In 1919, he was elected abbot of Melleray. In 1922 he became General Abbé of the Order, succeeding Monseigneur Marre. He was the friend of Dom Vital Lehodey, abbot of Bricquebec, of which he encouraged spiritual teaching. He concluded his the experiment of Caldey in England. Its government of the Order allowed the development in fidelity of it.

Although resulting from a deeply catholic family, he was the nephew by alliance of Morhéry, socialist liberal and anticlerical.
