Jean-Baptiste Nouvion (1833-1898) is a Préfet under the Second Empire
Biography
Entered the prefectoral career, it began like Principal private secretary from the Prefects from the VAr and Vienna, then of Gustave Mercier Lacombe, Managing director of the Civil services of the Algérie and Conseiller State.
At the 26 years age, he became section head to the general Government of Algeria, posts that he occupied of 1859 to 1861, then was named sub-prefect of Philippeville of 1862 has 1870. He married Claire Chassériau, girl of the baron Charles Frederic Chassériau, Architecte and first cousin of the painter Theodore Chassériau. The proclamation of the Republic and the fall of the Empire caused the suspension of the functions of Jean-Baptiste Nouvion like representative of the imperial government.
