Jean-Baptiste Juvénal Corbineau

Jean-Baptiste Juvénal Corbineau (born the 1776 with Marchiennes (Northern), died in 1848 with Paris) was a general of cavalry.
Biography
His/her father, inspector of the Stud farm, intended it for the military career; hardly 10 years old, he answered the call of the fatherland and was soon named second lieutenant with the Régiment of Berry-Cavalry.He took part in all the campaigns of the Republic and the Empire.
His/her brother, Claude Corbineau, Aide-de-camp of the Emperor, was carried by a ball with Eylau. During the formation of the imperial guard, Jean-Baptiste was named captain of the hunters and, in Eylau-même, receipt the rank of major. He was called with the command of the 20th dragons with which he passed in Spain and was distinguished on various occasions, in particular under the walls of Burgos.
He was distinguished with the Bataille from Ocaña (1809), seized Grenade, of which he was named governor (1810).
In 1809, it was with the Bataille of Wagram and was wounded there. It ordered the 6th brigade of cavalry to the Campagne of Russia, was one cut moment of the remainder of the army and had its safety only with the skill of its operations, or, according to some, with the helps which it accepted from the Bavarian general of Wrède. It is in this circumstance that the Corbineau general discovered a point guéable of Bérésina, that it had to indicate later to Napoleon i. He saved the Large army with the passage of Bérésina (1812) by discovering this ford.
The Emperor rewarded some by attaching it to his person, in the capacity as aide-de-camp; however it preserved the command of its brigade of light cavalry which made wonders with Kulm, the August 30th 1813. The March 30th, it took again Rheims occupied by the Russian army , with two divisions of cavalry only and eight parts of gun; appointed governor of the place, it defended it the 8 and the 9 against the reiterated attacks of the Russian general of Saint-Priest. He had with him only 200 men of garrison and the national guard which fought with much courage; this glorious defense saved the army temporarily and was worth in Corbineau the cross of large officer the March 23rd 1814. Louis XVIII named Corbineau Chevalier of Saint-Louis the July 19th 1814. During the Hundred Days, it took again its service of aide-de-camp of Napoleon and accepted from it a special mission with Lyon, of which it discharged with the greatest zeal, but as a soldier more than as a diplomat.
The Corbineau general was with the Bataille of Waterloo at the sides of the Emperor at the time when this last was constrained to be thrown, like Ney and Soult and several generals, in the square which it ordered. Mr. Corbineau was badly seen by the Bourbon S until in 1830 and put at the retirement at that time, with defense to carry the uniform. The revolution of 1830 raised it of this interdict; it in charge of the 16th military division (Lille), and was later created Pair of France (May 3rd 1838).

Its name is engraved on the 32e column of the Triumphal arch, west coast.
