Jean-Baptiste Governed

Jean-Baptiste Régis (towards 1665 - 1737) was a Jésuite, missionary in China.

Born with Istres in Provence, he worked with the general chart of China (1708-15) and took share into 1724 with the discussions which the missionaries had to support in front of the emperor Yongzheng to prevent the proscription of the Christianisme. He died in this country.

He left a Latin translation of the Yi King.
