Jean-Baptiste Courtonne , known as Courtonne the Young person , is a Architecte French 18th century born towards 1711 and died in 1781.
Biography
Wire of the architect Jean Courtonne (1671 - 1739), it obtained the third price of the royal Academy of architecture in 1733 and 1738. Meanwhile, it spent three years to Maubeuge near the engineer of king Roland Virloys, director of the Fortifications of Hainaut. Extremely of this experiment, he worked with statements of architecture and decoration, working in particular with the painter Jacques de Lajoüe.Between 1740 and 1742, on the recommendation of his/her brother-in-law, the sculptor Jacques-François Martin, Courtonne was employed by Jean-Baptiste Charlet of Tillet, marquis de Bussières, for work of the hotel of Albret , 31 Rue of Francs-Bourgeois in Paris, where it succeeded Jean-Baptiste Vautrain, shown relaxation and negligences: it was in particular charged to compose the leaves of the carriage gate. Between 1755 and 1759, always for the family of Tillet, allied with the Ormesson, it built the Château of Villarceaux for Charles Jean Baptiste of Tillet, marquis de Villarceaux.
Architect of the Prince de Conti between 1749 and 1761, it carries out for him new constructions of the palate of the Temple and transforms into 1757 the Château of Isle-Adam: creation, along the frontage on court, of a Colonnade of Ionic order, preceded by a Perron and surmounted by a Balustrade, creation of kitchens and offices in basement.
