Jean-Baptiste Attic

Jean-Baptiste Grenier (born the April 21st 1753 with Brioude - died the March 26th 1838 in the same city) was a French lawyer and politician whose activity was exerted for the period of the Révolution.

Biography

Jean-Baptiste Grenier was the fourth child of Claude Grenier and Marguerite Sollet. Two of his/her brothers, Blaise the elder one and Antoine became priests. Blaise left like missionary to the the Indies.

Jean-Baptiste, as for him, became lawyer and, in 1789 was elected, by the Sénéchaussée of Riom, with 172 votes, appointed of the Tiers state of the province of Auvergne to the General states. He pointed out himself little during the meetings of the constituent Assembly. He took part with his colleagues Gaultier de Biauzat and Sémonville in the foundation of the Journal of DEBATEs .

After the dissolution of the constituent Assembly and her replacement by the legislative Assemblée, of which it could not form part because of the enacted rule prohibiting the access of this new assembly to the members of the first, he became government commissioner close the court of Brioude.

Declared suspect in 1793 and 1794, it ceased any public office, and only after the Coup d'etat of the 18 Brumaire found any.

The 7 floréal year VIII (April 27th 1800), it was named sub-prefect of Brioude. It showed there a dedicated partisan of the governments consular and imperial. Also, in its meetings of Thermidor 29 (August 17th) and of the 2 fructidor year XII (August 20th 1804), the preserving Senate designated it as deputy of the Haute-Loire to the legislative Body, where it will sit until in 1810. He was also mayor of Brioude until in 1802.

Jean-Baptiste Grenier had married Antoinette Vimal, girl of Michel Vimal, baron de Murs, of which it had two children:
