Biography
Origins
Like Athos and Porthos, this character was not aristocratic stock, but of recent nobility. It is his/her father, Jean of Peyrer, which introduces into the family the name of Three-Cities or Tréville. In 1607 it buys indeed, close to Sauguis, in the Basque valley of Pays of Drunk, the field of Three-Cities (Eliçabia and Casamajor) which gives him the nobility, because, in Basque Country, she sticks to the ground. And thus it acquires the right to estimate Gentilhomme and to sit among the gentlemen of the Vicomté of the Drunk one.
Its beginnings
In 1616, the seventeen years age, it gives up the trade for the weapons and leaves for Paris. It engages there like junior-gentleman in the Gardes-Françaises. It is as musketeer whom Tréville takes share with the seat of the La Rochelle, of 1627 with 1628, where it is wounded. Tréville has all the confidence of the king Louis XIII. It becomes in 1634 Capitaine Lieutenant of the company of the Mousquetaire S. Some of his famous recruits of 1640 come from its family entourage, such as for example:-
the cousin of Athos
- the uncle by alliance of Aramis
- the brother-in-law of François de Guillon, lord of Essarts, which recommends Porthos
Its guards
At this point in time bursts the business of Five-March and François de Thou. Louis XIII, one knows it, did not like Richelieu, but it could not occur some. All with the king, Tréville shared the feelings of them. Knowing this aversion, Five-March, which plots against Richelieu, comes to probe Tréville. This one answers him that it never mixed to assassinate anybody. However it implies that if the king judges some thus, it will obey.Richelieu discovers the plot and makes carry out Five-March and of Thou. It could not imply Tréville in the screen, but as it knows that this last awaited only one order of the king, it cannot tolerate a similar adversary. It thus requires the immediate exile of Tréville. The king yields.
The December 4th 1642, Richelieu dies. At once the king points out faithful Tréville and the command of the company of the musketeers returns to him. A few months later, the May 14th 1643, Louis XIII dies in his turn.
Tréville loses its chief and guard. However Anne of Austria, regent, to reward the trusty servant for her husband, sets up Troisvilles in county, 1643.
But, between the captain of the musketeers and the new minister Mazarin, is not long in being established a state of deaf person animosity. Also, in 1646, not managing to obtain from Tréville that it yields of gladly its load, which Mazarin would like to allot to its Mancini nephew, the minister makes it dissolve the company of the musketeers.
Its end
The career of Tréville is finished, it is not forty seven years old. There enters during one time of passive resistance, remains deaf with the calls of the Fronde, is devoted to its Basque field and ends up accepting the post of governor of the Pays of Foix.
