Jean-Antoine Louis

Jean-Antoine Louis known as " Louis of Bas-Rhin" (1753 - 1796).

Former civil servant with Strasbourg.

Born with Bar-le-Duc on March 10th, 1742. It was employed with the Intendance of Alsace when the revolution burst and adopted quickly the novel ideas.

Under the Revolution

Administrator and member of the Directory of the department of the the Low-Rhine in 1791. Elected official appointed with the national Convention by the department of the Low-Rhine (1792). The death of Louis XVI voted. Elected official with the Committee of general security in October 1793. It was, with Jean-Adam Pflieger, elder the, operations manager in Alsace from March in July 1793. Became member of the Comité of general security in October 1793 and left after the Thermidor 9 An II (July 27th 1794). It had been made the reputation be the only member of the Committee of General security which could accommodate with benevolence and comprehension the innumerable solicitants whose the anteroom of the Committee did not désemplissait.

He was elected appointed with the Conseil of the Five hundred and died during the session.
