Jean, infant of Portugal, 3rd constable of Portugal

Jean, infant of Portugal (Pt: Dom João, Infante of Portugal), third constable of Portugal, tenth mâitre of the Military Order of Jacques Saint, born in 1400, died in 1442. Wire of Jean Ier of Portugal and Philippa of Lancaster, he married in 1424 his niece Dona Isabel de Bragança (dead in 1465), girl of the first duke of Bragance (bastard of Jean Ier of Portugal) and of its wife Dona Beatriz Pereira de Alvim (girl heiress of Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira, the Saint Constable (2nd) of Portugal, count de Ourém and of Arraiolos and Barcelos).

From this union will be born:

  • Diogo, infant of Portugal, known as Jacques of Portugal (death in 1443). Fourth Constable of Portugal, eleventh Master of the Military Order Portuguese of Jacques Saint. Single person.

  • Isabelle, infante of Portugal, in 1447 it married Jean II of Castille and was the mother of Isabelle the Catholic.
  • Beatrice, infante of Portugal (Pt: Gave Beatriz, Infanta of Portugal) (dead in 1506), in 1452 it married Ferdinand, Infant of Portugal, duke of Viseu and adoptive Beja, wire and heir to infant Henri the Navigator (posterity), and was the mêre of Manuel Ier of Portugal, the Fortunate one.
  • Philippa, infante of Portugal (Pt: Gave Filipa, Infanta of Portugal]. Single person.
