The jazz-rock'n'roll, called sometimes jazz fusion , is current musical born at the end from the Années 1960, under the simultaneous impulse of the rocker Frank Zappa ( Hot Rats , 1969) and of the jazzman Miles Davis ( Bitches Brew , 1970).

Both mix with their own sensitivity the influences of the Jazz, the Rock, the Rhythm and Blues, the Soul music, the Funk and sometimes of the Classical music.

The jazz fusion is a typically instrumental music. The pieces are generally long, with long phases of improvisation, reasons and rhythmic signatures often complex, characteristics which one seldom finds in the other forms of Western music. Many musicians of jazz fusion are known to be virtuosos.
