Jay Caufield (born the July 17th 1960 with Philadelphia in Pennsylvania) is a former professional player of Hockey. It evolved/moved as a right winger in the National league of hockey.

Career in club

Caufiled began its career of sportsman while playing for the North Dakota Fighting Sioux of the University off North Dakota (NCAA). However, he played the American football and not hockey.

These are only once its finished studies, that it is recruited by the Rangers of New York which send it to take experiment in the international Ligue of hockey then in the American Ligue of hockey for the season 1985-86. In 1986-87, it makes its beginnings in the LNH and receives 45 mintues penalty in 13 matches. It is exchanged with the North Stars of Minnesota with which it plays one match and turns over in the LIH.

In 1988, it joined the Penguins de Pittsburgh where it will be its greater successes. It gains the Coupe Stanley in 1992.

It does not succeed therefore being essential in the LNH and it stops its career of player in 1993-94 and will have marked 5 goals in the LNH.

After that, he becomes physical preparer and will work much with Mario Lemieux following these various stops in his career.
