Shawn Carter alias Jay-Z is a American Rap fear born the December 4th 1969 with Brooklyn, New York. He became the most popular rappor of the east coast with his ex-rival Nas since the disappearance of Notorious B.I.G. He also became, according to the magazine Forbes, one of the Americans between 20 and the 45 years richest of the United States with a fortune of 547 million dollars.

Biography

Jay-Z was born in the hot district from Marcy (Marcy Projects) in Brooklyn, New York. His/her father (of Haitian origin) leaves the family hearth. He is thus high alone by his mother and starts to sell drug very early, while being impassioned of Hip Hop. He was called Jazzy in his district, from where its pseudonym adopted later, Jay-Z . After several unfruitful attempts to form a group, Jay-Z founded the label Rock-HAVE-Cracked Records with Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke. Its first album, Reasonable Doubt , left in 1996 and includes/understands the titles “Ain' T No Nigga” (with Foxy Brown), “Can' T Knock the Hustle” (with Mary J. Blige), “Dead Presidents”, “Feelin' It”, “Bring It One” (with Big Jaz and Sauce Money) and famous “Brooklyn Finest” with Notorious B.I.G.

In 1997, the second album of Jay-Z, In My Lifetime, vol. 1 , enabled him to sit its notoriety. In spite of success, the image of Jay-Z was tarnished by what the fans of Hip hop perceived like thecommercial one with a sound more directed towards pop the following year, vol. 2 left: Hardware Knock Life , which was a world success with more than 8 million sold albums. This album contains many tubes such “Edge I Get has Fuck You” (with Ja Rule), “Hardware Knock Life” (whose sample is borrowed from the musical comedy Annie), “Nigga What, Nigga Who”, “It' S Alright” and “Money Ain' T has Thang”.

In 1999, Jay-Z left vol. 3… Life And Times Off S. Carter , another success. Its fifth album, The Dynasty Roc Familia is an album of collaboration with much of guests of Rock-HAVE-Cracked, including Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek and Amil, but also Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Kanye West, The Neptunes and Just Blaze. This same year leaves its duet with Mariah Carey, Heartbreaker , which becomes n°1 in the United States.

In 2001, the exit of the album The Blueprint was an event because he is regarded rightly as one of the best albums of the history of the Hip hop. Eminem was the only artist invited on the album, appearing on the piece “Renegade”. This album marks the beginning of the disagreement between Jay-Z and Nas with the song “Takeover”, the competition of the two rappeurs remained a long time one of the main subjects of conversation in the community of the hip hop. The enmity between Jay-Z and Nas was crescendo until in 2003 before they are reconciled.

Jay-Z left in 2002 an album in collaboration with R. Kelly entitled Best Of Both World . The sixth album solo of Jay-Z was The Blueprint ²: The Gift & The Curse , an double-album including the Remix song “Me & My Girlfriend” in homage to 2Pac, “'03 Bonnie & Clyde”, in duet with his/her boyfriend, Beyoncé.

In 2003, after a round with 50 Hundred, Busta Rhymes and Sean Paul, Jay-Z left a new album entitled The Black Album which must be its last in solo. In October 2004, Jay-Z and R. Kelly leave one following their joint album entitled Unfinished Business 2004 . In November 2004, Jay-Z left Collision Race in collaboration with Linkin Park. It comprises Remix of songs of the albums of the group ( Hybrid Theory and Meteora , like Oh No No No I amndt not young stag).

In November 2003, it makes a memorable concert with the Madison Square Garden of New York where it invites a multitude of artists Hip-Hop and R&B. On scene, it accommodates in particular Foxy Brown with which it was scrambled for some time. Extracts in the concert, as of the scéances of recording of the The Black Album are joined together in the film Fade To Black left in 2004.

January 3rd, 2005, following the repurchase of its label Rock-HAVE-Cracked by Def Jam it becomes the president of the label reference in Hip-hop Def Jam. October 27th, 2005 sounds the great return of Jay-Z with a concert entitled I Declares War where instead of declaring the war it puts a final term at its beef with Nas by inviting it on the scene.

On the humane level, Jay-Z joined in August 2006 MTV and the the United Nations to draw the attention of the young people to the various parts of the sphere touched by the lack of drinking water. Jay in particular met Kofi Annan, then general secretary of the United Nations, at the time of a conference to the seat of the United Nations in New York. Within the framework of its international round, Jay-Z will go in various areas of the world, touched by this crisis of water.
