Jason Kidd

Jason Frederick Kidd known as J-Kidd (born the March 23rd 1973 with San Francisco) is a player of Basket-ball evolving/moving in the team NBA of the New Jersey Nets.

He is regarded as one of best the leader of play in activity, and is recognized for his capacity to return the best teams in whom he evolves/moves. He proved it by carrying out twice the New Jersey Nets finally NBA, in 2002 and 2003. Its excellent capacity with the rebound is worth to him to be one accustomed of the Triple-double S (to reach at least 10 units in three statistical categories at the time of a match). Its vision of the play, its altruism and its qualities with the rebound make of him a frightening player, nevertheless weakened by its inconsistence with the shooting.

Biography

Jason Kidd evolves/moves in the university of Berkeley in California before being registered with the draft 1994. It is selected in second position by the Dallas Mavericks behind Glenn Robinson. There it gains this year the better title of rookie of the year to equality of voice with Grant Hill, of the Detroit Pistons. It then forms in Dallas the trio of the “three J” with Jimmy Jackson and Jamal Mashburn. The talent of these three players seems to promise beautiful days in Dallas, but various disagreements will lead to the dispersion of the core.

Kidd is then transferred to the Phoenix Suns against Michael Finley, A.C. Green and Sam Cassell during the season 1996-97.

It remains in Phoenix four seasons and half, where it is one of the dominant leaders of the league, taking part regularly in the All-Star Range, named on several occasions in the All NBA First TEAM , and leading the league to the decisive master keys.

But if its qualities make it possible Suns to reach the play-offs each year, Kidd does not manage to bring its team until finally. It is again transferred during the intersaison 2001 against Stephon Marbury. With Marbury, Suns do not reach the play-offs for the first time of 14 years.

In 2001-2002 it leads the New Jersey Nets to suprenant assessment of 52-30, in play-off it finally carries out the team until NBA which the Nets lose against Los Angeles Lakers on the score of 4-0, the same year it finishes second with the vote for the title of MVP, behind Tim Duncan.

In 2002-2003, after one season finished on the assessment of 49-33, the Nets again find finally NBA, but are beaten 4-2 by the San Antonio Spurs.

The repurchase of the club in 2004 pushes the frankness to separate key players (Kenyon Martin, Kerry Kittles) to reduce the costs, without any significant player in return. Kidd, dissatisfied, request to be transferred. The Nets make nevertheless efforts to satisfy it by recovering Vince Carter, in disgrace with Toronto, lasting the season 2004-05.
